"What does it mean to be “sexually desirable?” I’ve talked about disability and sexiness A LOT. What is sexy? What does it mean to be sexually desirable? Are disabled people sexually desirable?
I look at this photo and in my head the answer is clear: “yes maaaa you work that pout, you little sex kitten you.” But maybe I’m biased.I’ve received comments and feedback saying that people have preferences and that I can’t expect people to be sexually attracted to me because I’m disabled. “Some people just aren’t into that.” And it’s true, everyone has preferences. I like built men that resemble Zac Efron. But, people expect other people to not be sexually attracted to disabled people. It’s not a normative sexual preference.
Why?
Disability is almost never sexualized in the media and in films. Have you ever seen a hot steamy sex scene with a {actual} disabled person in it? I haven’t. Also.. Hollywood.. I totally volunteer as tribute to pop that media cherry. Pun intended🍒"
