"This is Gideon, my son, floating in the tub which is really this in-between space that we both occupy. We are still waiting for the placenta so we are still tethered together, still connected, but more separate than ever before. One body got into that tub and two will now emerge. We are gazing at one another for the first time and it feels cosmic- I sneak glimpses at his body but keep returning to stare into his eyes. Pure magic!”
