For the 25th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, activist and Pride flag creator Gilbert Baker was commissioned to make the world’s largest rainbow flag for New York Pride 1994 as pictured here. A giant display of power, solidarity and triumph for Queer people, the rainbow flag is continually used to showcase love and celebration. Now in 2021, we have a new version of this flag with brown, black, blue, white and pink stripes added to the rainbow. These new stripes pay necessary attention to the unique experiences and hardships faced by Brown, Black and Trans members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. This year, we remember that during Pride (and beyond) equality is for everyone. Diversity, equity, inclusion and acknowledgement is necessary and can help us strengthen our allyship together as one🏳️‍🌈 Follow along with us here on Instagram and on our blog The Lift all month long for diverse stories by people in our community that we are so beyond proud to know! #Pride2021 #BlackTransLivesMatter #IndigenousLivesMatter
