Exactly four weeks ago. 8th October, to be exact!
I decided I wouldn’t wait and take the biggest leap/risk on turning what I love to do into my 2nd job. 😅
Before I turned 30, I promised myself that I would starting doing what I love.
I have been through soo much in my past life that I had nothing to fear or lose. I owed this to myself!
Money is replaceable, but time isn’t. Time is what I didn’t want to lose. 🙅🏻♀️
I knew if I didn’t take up this opportunity, I would regret it SO much. So I started @bylaniofficial ; from day 1, I stayed up late after my 9 - 5 shift, working on designs and ideas with every bit of time I had.
As much as I wanted to do so much more, my budget was tight. 🎀
So, I had to work with what I had.
This journey is so lonely and it’s hard! so I decided to email people in Sydney, The U.S. and England.
I even had Zoom calls with people in Russia, Canada and Romania! And the time difference had me buggered! But all I wanted was to network with like-minded individuals and learn from them! 🤔 I wanted to know what I was doing wrong, what would work and what wouldn’t!
As silly as I look here. It just so happens that what I created had been finished and was ready to be picked up! 😧
On the way to the factory, my anxiety went through the roof!
I had no samples to look at, just proofs to approve and trust @drklbl knew what they were doing with my designs!
I was in so much shock when I opened the box. I had no emotion, haha
Until it all settled in on the way back home, and a flood of tears rolled down my face! 🥹
I couldn’t believe it; what I created was in my hands, and my partner was wearing it!
Everything, and still to this day, I’ve worked so hard for is here. And I can’t wait until they’re live so I can share these passions with you!
The Virgo in me needs to make sure everything is perfect and how I would want to see it from an outsider. 😂
