We get it. When your client's lash retention is trash it can be super stressful and we all know it’s much easier to blame the poor old glue than to admit it might actually be something that you or your client has done to cause the poor retention…
Realistically, the likelihood of you receiving a "bad batch" of adhesive is about as likely as you being struck by lightning whilst riding a rainbow coloured unicorn named Larry 🦄😅
In no particular order, here are 25 reasons that are WAY more likely to be the cause of your client’s lash retention issues than the glue you just bought being a “bad batch”:
1. There is something slippery on your client's lashes (i.e. moisturiser)
2. Your client isn't using a lash cleanser often enough
3. You're wiping off excess adhesive on the eyepads
4. You forgot to shake your adhesive before dispensing
5. Your adhesive is too fast for your application style
6. Your client is a picker!
7. Your client is on medication
8. You're unconsciously using less adhesive so it sets faster
9. You're dipping into the adhesive before isolating the lash
10. Your adhesive has been open longer than 30 days
11. Your adhesive hasn't been stored correctly
12. You work from the side instead of the forehead
13. You forgot to refresh your adhesive before it got tacky
14. You've changed primers or cleansers
15. You're using new lashes that have a slippery coating on them
16. You're not using the right adhesive for your environment
17. You didn’t rinse the lash cleanser off properly
18. There is sunscreen residue on the natural lashes
19. Your client has been super stressed
20. Your client is pregnant and her hormones are out of balance
21. Your client has just had recent surgery
22. Your client is using a cleanser that isn't suitable for extensions
23. You're wiping off excess glue on the cup instead of re-dipping
24. You store your adhesive in the fridge after it's been opened
25. You didn't put the cap back on your glue bottle properly
