Our AAFW23 Runway bags were specially made by @liandragaykamangu brothers wife, Sylvia Nulpinditj.
Sylvia is an amazing weaver and role model who also works at Yolngu Radio. We recommend a Google of her name 😉 she has done some INCREDIBLE things, like being the first woman to commentate an AFL match in an Indigenous language (Yolngu matha).
In the weeks leading up to AAFW23 Sylvia and Liandra worked together to create accessories that were complimentary to the runway, all while Sylvia prepared to commentate the Dreamtime clash at the MCG for a second year.
These beautiful bags have been made with a blend of raffia and pandanus. This particular bag was worn by @lisa.fatnowna for our opening look in the Next Gen show at @ausfashionweek
