Did you know that today is the 6th anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh where over 1138 people died and 2500 were injured?The tragedy highlighted the dreadful conditions that many people in the garment industry were working in.
Fashion Revolution is working hard to end exploitation in the fashion industry. During Fashion Revolution Week they encourage people around the globe to ask fashion and clothing brands ‘Who made my clothes?’, using the hashtag #whomademyclothes.
As fair fashion label we try to be as transparant as possible. All our pieces are made by 350 lovely knitting ladies in Ayacucho, Peru. They work in a fair, humane and sustainable environment. No child labour, human exploitation or bad conditions. We do not only try to create the best possible working environment for our ladies, but we also pay them fair and honest wages.
This is a project in collaboration with Solid Crafts. They develop and guide sustainable handicraft workshops where disadvantaged people are employed in an honest way where the focus is on high-quality raw materials and authentic crafts.
