When we were born, the only information we had about ourselves was our bodies. We listened to what we needed and cried for our needs to be met. It’s all we knew of who we were. As we grew up, we developed an ego, we got conditioned to listening to cultural norms and peoples expectations of what we thought we should be and do and feel. We started living in our mind. Through that process and as time went on, slowly the more attached we became to our mind and our ego, the less in tune we became with the voice of our body. Our body is a huge part of our authentic selves, when we disown or are not connected to our body, our mind is unable to fully understand our needs, and unable to come from an authentic place. Yoga is an avenue to move out of the mind, and move back into the body. Reconnecting with ourselves with trust. Everyday i am cultivating the practice of moving into my body and learning to listen, embrace and trust.
