A bit of backstory: Inspired by a vintage woven market bag found in Florence, we partnered with Paolo, a 63-year-old sneaker specialist to create the Cerchio.
In the Tuscan workshop he founded over three decades ago, Paolo and his team of artisans hand cut and weave each piece of leather in the intrecciato (Italian for "braided") method.
It's pretty wild if you think about it: Each. Individual. Piece. Cut. By. Hand. Unsurprisingly, it takes two-plus weeks to complete each pair and three times as much leather as other similar kicks.
In addition to his sneaker-making expertise, Paolo is well-versed in living with gusto: on the weekends, he makes wine for his family and friends.
