For the last month and a half I’ve been diligently trying to diversify my practice by incorporating a vinyasa flow. Needless to say, I’ve been a creature of habit for the majority of my life, everyday like clockwork. When you find something that appears to be working, patterns can be so challenging to break. There is something so unbelievably comfortable about routine; it’s warm, cozy, reliable, and safe. It took a minor rib injury before I decided that it was time to get out of the Bikram studio and try something new. I finally took my first vinyasa flow class bodenyc with zakesinger and it was a breath of fresh air. The element of change and newness was exciting, stepping out of my comfort zone felt empowering. ✨ I don’t know if it was fear that prevented me from trying this new practice sooner but I’m so glad that I finally did. Since having incorporated it into my not so predictable yoga routine, my practice is strengthening in ways that I did not realize possible. Likewise, I am no longer fearful or feel stagnant in my growth both within my practice and as an individual. Don’t let fear or the comfort of your routine hold you back from being the best version of yourself✨ . .
