Holidays and vacations shouldn’t be a time to feel stressed or worried about your diet.

PSA: It’s OK to take diet breaks!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In fact, if you are counting macros or have a weight loss goal you’re working towards, I actually advise the occasional diet break.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I always tell my clients that we work hard all year round so we CAN enjoy ourselves periodically throughout the year. If we didn’t, wtf would be the point?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You aren’t going to be perfect all the time and that’s ok. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I promise you — you won’t lose progress in the long run. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You won’t put on a massive amount of body fat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s what we do the rest of the year that makes the difference. Not the two weeks out of the year we take off to enjoy ourselves.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re worried, do me a favor and ask yourself what’s more important to you— making memories that will last a lifetime with your loved ones & friends OR not participating in holiday festivities because you’re worried about hitting macros?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At the end of the day, I’m not going to tell you how to live your life. I CAN tell you though that I used to be that girl- constantly worried and paralyzed with fear by the thought of gaining weight if GOD FORBID, I veered off my diet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Living that way left me with a shitty quality of life. I was isolated and often felt unfulfilled despite how good my physique looked.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With that said, if you’re struggling to detach (even temporarily) from certain thoughts or beliefs, I challenge you to think about who you would be and what you can do without those attachments. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Health is a spectrum. It includes our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Fitness is important, but it should NEVER come at the cost of our health. If it does, you’re doing it wrong. •
