I can’t believe I’m sharing some of these rn, especially the last one 🙃
• Co-sleeping. I used to swear I never would. Now I understand why every mammal does. No sleep training for us.
• I actually love breastfeeding. Being her main source of comfort feels right. It makes me sad thinking it will end soon.
• Contact naps. Every single nap. We’re 9 months in. I love it. She loves it. The chores can wait.
• I’m not forcing vegetables just to check a box. If she’s not into it, we move on.
• “How many naps is she on?” Two? Three? She sleeps when she’s tired.
• I’m not handing her an iPad to keep her entertained. She hangs out with me. But if I’m ordering doordash and she sees the screen, I’m not shielding it.
• “Mommy needs to do her skincare.” Fully speaking about myself in third person now.
• I stopped sanitizing every surface like I did at two weeks postpartum.
• Talking to her like she’s an adult. Full conversations. Narrating errands. Asking her thoughts. She says “mamam.”
• If there’s no wipe nearby, I lick the yogurt off her fingers (she looooves yoghurt). I’m not changing her whole outfit over that.
