THE TALE OF THE TOP 💙 When I was designing my Spring 2017 collection last summer, I was feeling really uncertain about the future. Would we be living in a Hillary world or a Donald world when this collection was shipped? Well, we now know how it played out(🙄), but at the time, my uncertainty and fear had me craving something that would bring me comfort and security- I was drawn to pure, natural fabrics like cotton shirting. I wanted to take this fabric, normally used in men's dress shirts, and really make it my own. Create something sensual out of it. In this case, I wrapped the fabric around my torso and created a strapless peplum top- feminine and sexy, but so easy and comfortable to wear. When I am comfortable in my clothes I always feel confident. And the fact that I created something feminine and sculpted from this "Menswear" fabric made me feel empowered and strong.
