This last @mojaveoffroad race in Lucerne Valley, we had the opportunity to run and test the first production unit that @mobarmor has created called the “TabNetic”. This amazing mounting system uses an T3 Armor IPad enclosure and a MAGNETIC roll cage mount to hold your iPad securely in ANY environment. It goes without saying that an off road race truck experiences some of the most unpredictable forces and movements. So this test was about as rough of an environment this system could see. We had been running the @mobarmor magnetic mounts to hold our phones which work as our gauge clusters in #decade every race. They have never failed nor moved even when we rolled the truck in the first race. When Mob Armor contacted me and asked if we would throw our $600 iPad in the MAGNETIC held enclosure to test during the race, we had not one reservation. After getting the mount from them and installing it, it became very clear that unless we tried very hard the iPad Air 2 was completely stuck in place. Watching my kids try to remove it was a game that soon became very fun to watch. 😁
The system performed flawlessly. Reading the GPS was so much easier because it was very still and secure. I can see why this system would be a huge benefit to everyone from a desert racer to a family in a SXS using the @mobarmor_gps_app on their iPad. When you stop after a leg of your trip, you simply pull the tablet off the magnet base and take it inside. It seems as time goes by, my iPad is with me no matter if I’m in my living room, RV or my race truck. The magnetic base makes moving from one to the other simple. .
