Hey Friends - my name is Jordan and I am a native Texas girl who’s the designer, maker, customer service rep, photographer, web developer (except for all that big stuff) the order packer, sales rep, and marketer behind Mod + Jo.

At the age of 25, my husband and I were given the opportunity to move to Chengdu, China for his career where we spent two years learning and exploring new cultures and countries. This is where Mod + Jo was born. I had dabbled in jewelry design and starting a side hustle prior to our big move but didn’t have my full heart in it. While we were getting settled in our forgein home, I took a 6 month hiatus from designing and this allowed me to take a step back and reevaluate who I wanted to be a designer and creator. If I was going to put my art back into the world, I wanted it to be 100% me in terms of what did I want to see in this market that was attainable for the every girl.. I have always been price conscious but never wanted to sacrifice quality (who does?). With these two major non-negotiattbles in mind, I began to rebrand into a company that I was craving. ✈️
There have been many twists and turns in Mod + Jo’s story - from confusion of my very first customers with items arriving from China when they’re American made, to little to not margins just to get my name and brand out into people’s hands, to long delays just due to my physical location in the early days. These early challenges along with endless hours of hard work, a lot of fear and self doubt were never enough to make me throw in the towel. I had this inner belief that I could make it, that I could make my foot print in this industry that I love and enjoy creating for. The one that allowed me to take charge of this amazing life Mod + Jo has shaped for me.
