When Vladimir Kutenkov (@kutenkov) spotted these two women in traditional kimonos at the Tsvetnoy Central Market, he asked if they’d participate in his #WHPtimetravel submission. “I saw the escalator, its beautiful symmetry, and in my mind I had an idea to bridge the past and the present,” says the student from Moscow, who adds there was one challenge: “We waited a very long time for there to be no people on the escalator!”
