Freelance photographer Yile Yang (@kononekome) aims to capture the uncertainties of everyday life. Yile’s photos are a reflection of the emotions she encountered when she left her homeland of Beijing, China, to work in Tokyo. “I began working for this big company, only to realize how tough it was to convey thoughts and reach agreements with people who were different from me in many ways,” the 25-year-old says. She turned to her camera and found herself on a new path. “Photos don’t eliminate the things you don’t understand, and at the same time you’re not forced to define them as well,” Yile says. “What fascinates me about photography is that it shows you both the visible and invisible side of things all at once.” Discover more stories from the Japanese community on @instagramjapan.
