Julian Glander (@glanderco) is inspired by candy, old Claymation, cute animals, fruit and ... blobs. “All different kinds of blobs,” the animator from Pittsburgh explains. “Food blobs, clay blobs, toxic waste blobs — you name a blob, I’m into it.” What started as a hobby in computer doodling and T-shirt illustration turned into a job — Julian takes an idea and converts it into geometric shapes. “The most important step is playing around with color combinations, which is so fun and kind of puts me in a hypnotized Zen state. I could try out different pastel palettes all day and never finish anything.”
