Claire, a corporate lawyer, has traveled to over 50 countries but says sumo is unlike anything she’s seen before: “It’s such an intense show of strength. I was completely caught up in the drama — the throwing of salt, the thud of human bodies, the crushing look of defeat when a foot slips out of the ring and the match is lost.”
