With its disco balls, hulking chandeliers, rippled ceiling, wood paneling and sequined curtains, visitors entering the historic halls of the Kino International movie theater can expect a throwback to decades past. Built between 1961 and 1963, the monument of “GDR modernism” is one of the many stages hosting premiers and screenings during the Berlin International Film Festival (@berlinale), and offers moviegoers stunning views both on-screen and off.
