“My motto is, ‘A doodle a day keeps the psychologist away,’” jokes Zari Haidar Marin (@justZHM), an architect, urban designer and self-taught illustrator living in Beirut. Zari started using Instagram as a quick way of doing something creative, sharing her doodles made on napkins, tray mats and cup holders in waiting moments. “I started doodling some years ago as a way of expressing my frustrations and worries,” she says. “I was a sad and gray person who, thanks to doodling, became able to see everything in colors.” Zari says it helps to create something funny out of things in life pulling her down. “Today, I don’t only try to find the bright side of things, but I invent it if I can’t find it,” she says. “And I encourage others to do the same.” Photo by @justZHM
