“In space you see intense colors, shades of blue that I’d never seen before,” says NASA astronaut Terry Virts (@astro_terry), who is currently in orbit above Earth aboard the International Space Station (@iss). “It’s been said a thousand times but it’s true: There are no borders that you can see from space, just one beautiful planet,” he says. “If everyone saw the Earth through that lens I think it would be a much better place.” Today, Terry and his fellow crew members will be greeting the new year from the best seat in the house. “We get to celebrate all 24 time zones.
