“A tip for a crisp color edit is to start with a clear blue sky and then find interesting subjects to shoot with the sky as a backdrop,” says Australian Instagrammer Tara Wells (@rarabro). On her Instagram account, she shares a fusion of minimalist photography with pop-art color edits with the #killerminimal hashtag. Living in Bathurst, a small countryside town west of Sydney, Tara developed a passion for color editing as a way to lift her mood and bring her surrounding environment to life. “Color editing has definitely changed my view of the world,” explains Tara. She further acknowledges, “I’m constantly keeping my eye out for interesting places and moments that I can turn into a color palette of minimalism, and I always take a moment to take it all in to enjoy it before I start snapping.” To see more of Tara’s colorful and minimal captures, browse the #killerminimal hashtag and follow @rarabro.
