October marks the end of Wan Awk Pansa (วันออกพรรษา), the Thai and Laos observance of vassa (commonly referred to as the "Buddhist Lent.") Few people celebrate the occasion in a more spectacular fashion than those of Sakon Nakhon, Thailand.
