I went to Morocco for a research trip in 2010 in search of interesting ingredients to formulate with. I packed my suitcase and hired a local guide as I was a bit scared of traveling alone in the region, and also I don’t speak the language. I already knew about Argan oil, but had a strong feeling that there would be something more to discover there and had to follow my instinct. Someone I knew who had local connections in Marrakech put me in touch with a homeopathic pharmacist so I made an appointment with her and at the end of my visit she gave me a little vial as a “gift” - it turned out to be Prickly Pear Seed Oil, which truly became a gift on multiple levels.
