Another wild day of racing at the MXGP of Riga 🇱🇻 It was @antoniocairoli and @jagogeerts193 taking the wins on the day, though it was another impressive showing from our Aussie contingent despite some mixed results! 🇦🇺 One more round in Latvia on Sunday, before the series heads off to Turkey 🙌🏼
In MXGP, @mitchevans43 had a tough first moto, getting caught up in another first corner pileup before going down again later in the moto. Moto 2, however, Mitch pulled a rocket of a start and was running in the top 5 for the first 10 minutes of the race. Coming back from shoulder surgery, Mitch's lack of bike fitness was evident as he faded throughout the race, finishing up in 16th place. Promising signs for the young Aussie! 💪🏼
In MX2, @jedbeaton14 was again caught in first turn crash in moto 1, powering from the back of the pack to finish 8th. Moto 2 saw a better start, though still not where he would like to be, and finished up 6th to take 6th overall on the day. The speed is there, if he can just get those starts dialled 🇦🇺
@_nathan199 had a tough, though promising, day. With 2 very impressive moto's running inside the top 10 for the majority of the race, crashes in the latter stages of both races meant his 29-22 moto scores didn't reflect the speed he was showing on the day ⚡
Young gun @bailey_malkiewicz_47 had a strong start to moto 1, though faded late to end up in 19th place. Moto 2 saw a crash with another rider in the early part of the race, with an impressive ride coming through the pack to finish 17th for 19th overall on the day.
