The Kadisha Valley, also known as the Holy Valley, is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in northern Lebanon. It is home to some of the most ancient Christian monastic communities of the Middle East, with monasteries and hermitages carved into its cliffs dating back to the early centuries of Christianity. The valley is home to the famous Monastery of Qozhaya and the Monastery of Saint Anthony, both significant religious and historical sites. It is also known for its natural beauty, with deep gorges, waterfalls, and ancient cedar forests. The valley holds deep spiritual significance, symbolizing Lebanon’s Christian heritage. It has also been a destination for Muslim mystics, or Sufis seeking solitude. Today, it remains a popular destination for pilgrims and nature lovers alike.
