Since the war broke out just over a year ago, it has been incredibly hard for international journalists to get in and report on the situation. We were lucky to get unprecedented access to the frontlines. Captions are as follows.
1. Doctors and staff from UNICEF worked to place a new intravenous cannula in the arm of Bara’a Ahmed at the malnutrition centre at Port Sudan Paediatric Teaching Hospital.
2.A Sudanese Armed Forces soldier drove through the heavily destroyed streets of the historic, sprawling Al-Shaabi market in Omdurman.
3.A young girl peered out the window of a room at a girl’s dormitory where several hundred women and children displaced by the war in Sudan are being sheltered.
4.Sudanese Armed Forces troops posed for a photo during a military demonstration outside the city of Omdurman.
5.Mahmoud Ismail Mohammed , 39, a Sudanese Armed Forces soldier, had his bandage changed by a doctor Bawarith military hospital in Port Sudan.

9.Hassan Adam, 14, ate food in his room at Al Nau hospital as his mother Amona Elhadi looked on. Hassan had only recently started to be able to eat again, having been shot by what his mother claimed was a member of a youth resistance group.
