Today marks the 76th anniversary of the Nakba, or Catastrophe, where 70% of Palestinians were ethnically cleansed, Palestinian social fabric destroyed, and most villages wiped off the map. Above is a collection of images of Palestine before and after Zionism.
“There were no such thing as Palestinians. It was not as though there was a Palestinian people in Palestine and we came and threw them out and took their country away from them. They did not exist.” - Golda Meir, Prime Minister of Israel. The house she lived in belonged to the Palestinian Hanna Bisharat who was expelled from Jerusalem in 1948.
