The name Palestine is just as old as the name Israel

A common myth that Zionists perpetuate is that the name Palestine is a modern invention made up by the Arab national movements of the early 1900s. The truth is that the region has had many names, with Palestine, associated with the Philistines, emerging around 1000BC along with Israelites when they both replaced the Canaanite civilization after the Bronze Age collapse. Even during the ~200 year gap that existed between the Assyrian conquest of the region and naming of the Roman province of Palestine - the region was routinely referred to as Palestine by Greek figures such as Herodotus, Aristotle, Polemon, and Agatharchides. The region has now continuously been referred to as Palestine starting in 130AD when Roman Emperor Hadrian reorganized the naming of Rome’s Middle Eastern provinces.
