Part five of the History of Palestine 🇵🇸
The five decades post Nakba was a tumultuous and violent period for neighboring Arab countries. Israeli invasions of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria, saw continued success against poorly trained and led armies. Nepotism and corruption plagued the Arab armies who were continually defeated by the more disciplined and trained IDF. Israel’s continuous aggression led to suspension of US aid and came close to US sanctions several times, something unthinkable today. Only with the rise of militant guerrilla groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas has Israel began to lose ground.
