The décor for our #MidnightWonderland was really an event unto itself; we built an indoor garden perched atop the second floor of a chic modern haveli, lush with palms, hand-crafted poppy flowers, and the Aparna Chandra for Nicobar line of course, billowing in the breeze on statuesque wire mannequins. (Plus one parrot, probably our favorite prop ever.) The team who built it spent three days (and nights!) laboring over this Wonderland, stringing lights above gauzy fabric to create a starry sky indoors and festooning chandeliers with massive palm leaves... and it looked magical, a set fit to unveil our most glamorous and festive line to date.
The weather gods had other plans, of course, and one thunderstorm (deluge, really) later our Wonderland turned rainforest, complete with waterfall (!) but we're so in awe of our team that turned that deluge-damage around in record speed, just in time to greet our first guest and raise a Hendricks gin cocktail to this line, but first to a truly historic day in Indian history, the day we scrapped #section377. #LoveIsLove
