ohne hq was thrilled today to see a petition started by a father who wants to see schools recognising period pain as a legitimite reason to be home ill. marcus alleyne's young daughter was suffering with a particularly painful period, and as parents they made the decision to keep her off school that day due to the severity of the pains. once the school were told, they decided to mark hre absence down as an 'unauthorised absence', rather than recognising their daughter was ill with serious period pains.

we all remember those painful days hunched over desks and changing our pads every hour, praying we don't leak onto the PE benches, and here at ohne we want more for the future generations. not recognising severe period pain as a legitimate reason to stay home can be so damaging to those who experience it, as it can lead to missing key symptoms of wider issues such as PCOS and endometriosis.
