festival season is officially over. we've hung up our sequins, waved goodbye to £8 plates of chips, and finally got our voices back after screaming in the crowds... but it's got us thinking - how can festivals provide better facilities for those with periods? 🩸

we all know festival toilets can be a hellish experience, with long queues and questionable scenes by the time you get into the portaloo [ptsd pending 🤢], but if you're also on your period when you're partying at a festival, it can be a less than ideal experience. many festival-goers resort to delaying their period with medication or contraception, whilst others face difficult dilemmas as they try to navigate changing their period products at festivals.

so - what's the solution? we absolutley love the work @redseatravelagency are doing, as the UK's first dedicated menstruation station for festivals. they're popping up in festivals all over the country to provide a space where you can safely change your period products, a sink to wash out your menstrual cup, and also a 'squishy corner' with hot water bottles to provide much needed comfort.
