we know it can sometimes feel like a crime scene when your period comes around, but how much blood do you ACTUALLY lose during a period? 🩸🩸
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
according to the NHS, most bleeders will lose less than 80ml of blood during their period. this is the equivilent to around 6 to 8 teaspoons. it can often feel like a hell of a lot more [we have the underwear stains to prove it], but this is commonly the most blood lost during a period.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
but remember babes - periods can differ massively person to person, and heavier periods can still occur. telltale signs of heavy periods can include:
✨ having to change your period products every hour
✨ passing blood clots that are larger than a 10p piece
✨ having to use multiple period products at one time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
remember to listen and track your body, and if you feel something isn't right we would always recommend heading to your GP or health clinic to ensure everything's running smoothly.
