overthinking - the art of creating new problems out of ones that never existed in the first place 😵💫😵💫
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
we've all been there. you're lying in bed, thinking about one thing, and suddenly it spirals. before you know it, it's 5am and you're obsessively googling something you'd never even thought about before, but now it's all you can think about. we know how easy it is to fall into the overthinking cycles [and the last year certainly hasn't helped...] but here's some midweek reminders of how to reset if you find your mind going a lil fuzzy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍊 learn your trigger points. it may be scrolling on social media too long, or discussing a certain topic with a friend... whatever it is, it's healthy and totally normal to want to step away from certain situations sometimes if you feel they're detrimental to your health.
🍊 try to stick to problem solving. write down what it is you're thinking about, and all the possible scenarios that can come from it. seeing it written down may given you a better perspective, and help with calming your mind.
🍊 talk to someone. have a trusted friend, family member, guardian or support person there who you know will listen to your thoughts, and know how to ease your mind.
🍊 if you feel like you're overthinking more and more, and it's affecting your mental health, always know you can talk to people. whether it's a trusted friend, or reaching out to organisations such as @giveusashoutinsta , always know there is a community here to support you when you need it most.
