it's time to talk periods and the work space 🩸
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
the majority of us have been working from home for the last year, which means that if you have been bleeding you at least have the luxury of your own bathroom to cramp into. but many of us will have experienced the uncomfortable feelings of cramps over a work desk, and having to shuffle to the shared loos to change your tampon during a heavy flow day. it can feel draining, and if you experience particularly bad cramping or heavy periods, working in an office can be the last thing you want to be doing during your cycle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
as well as the practicalities of working in an office during your period, there's the stigma that follows periods wherever it goes. 57% of bleeders have stated they've lied in the past about why they need a sick day to their managers, and 6 out of 10 also stated they would feel uncomfortable discussing their period with colleagues. 😱🤯
