uterine fibroids are growths that develop in and around the womb, and are made up of muscle and fibrous tissue. they're linked to high oestrogen levels, and can affect 1 in 3 bleeders.

many people can have fibroids without even knowing, but many can experience symptoms such as:
-heavy or particularly painful periods
-lower back and stomach pain
-constipation
-pain during and after sex

fibroids are incredibly common, and most bleeders experience them at some stage in their life. they normally can disappear without treatment and should just be monitored, however if you do feel like they’re causing severe discomfort we would always recommend popping to see your GP for further advice 🧡
