🌙 it's ok not to be ok 🌙 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ who wrote the plot for the last year, bc we seriously would like to talk to them. it's been a wild ride, full of [some] highs, but a whole load of lows that have left a lot of us struggling with finding the positivity in the every day. mental health lines in the UK have had an increased intake of calls and texts, and it seems more of us than ever are struggling with anxiety and mental health issues. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ we're here to tell you that the light is coming, and if you feel that it's still just too far away, help is always available. we're so grateful to ohne babe @natalierpchui for sharing her experiences with therapy in lockdown, and how she broached the subject of getting professional help for the first time. some top tips for approaching therapy: ☁️ find your preference. it's ok to shop around for the right therapist, someone who may have similar experiences, the same cultural background as you, or someone you feel you fit with. ☁️ ask questions! interview your potential therapist and ask as many questions necessary to see if they're the right person for you. remember, you need to feel safe in their presence, so this could be a great way to determine whether you'll feel comfortable, ☁️ consider your options. don't feel like you have to make decisions right away. ☁️ don't be afraid to say no. whether that's changing a therapist if you're not feeling it, or waiting to share certain information. take things at your own pace. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ full article live now on our fem space. link in bio. ☁️
