It's earth day. During our five years as a company, we've been over the moon to see innovation in the period care market. Mostly from small companies, like ourselves, creating resuseable, biodegradable and body safe period products/packaging.
But the mainstream period care market remains unsustainable. There is up to five plastic bags worth of plastic in a mainstream pack of pads. Every year 200,000 tonnes of waste is created from period products.
And there are still not enough sustainable options on shelves. We see it ourselves, as people with periods, if you come on suddenly and you have run out, more often than not, the only option is an unsustainable one.
Here at ohne, we won't stop fighting until we all have the choice of an affordable, sustainable period.
