Do you enjoy discovering new trails to hike? As a community, we love to get outside and explore new trails. This is why we started our #TrailTuesdays series where we feature recommended hikes from you, our crew. This week's trail is Pyramid Peak: "I could choose any 14er hikes I love them so much, but my most recent summit this past Summer is Pyramid Peak. Pyramid is a thundering choss-pile near Aspen, Colorado that is 14,029 feet high with tame mileage (8 miles car to car) but features steep, exposed, and difficult terrain (class 4 scrambling with 4,500 feet of uphill gain), and has the best view of the most photographed mountains in the country (Maroon Bells). It is a difficult and dangerous trail with stunning views, tons of mountain goats, and dizzying exposure, and is a mental and physical workout; what's not to like? It also has a mandatory "jump" across a gap in one of the ledge sections, adrenaline-inducing stuff! (pic attached of Nancy contemplating the jump). Rumor has it a super-athlete local finished it in just over an hour, but it takes most well-conditioned folks around 8 to 10 hours to hike. In my experience, 8 hours is about right." - @j__gully Do you have a favorite trail that you'd like to recommend? Just click the link in our bio and let us know!
