Our new Purely Calm Gel Toner was formulated to do three things: hydrate, calm, and smooth. Here’s how it does those things:
💧HYDRATE
Two weights of hyaluronic acid help to hydrate the skin near the surface, as well as in the deeper layers. Too high a concentration can dehydrate the skin, so we use it in a lower concentration to make sure the effect is helpful, not harmful. Apple saccharides also hydrate the skin, and help it hold that moisture for hours. And aloe, rich in mucopolysaccharides, does the same.
🌱CALM
Oat extract contains avenanthramides, the same active ingredient found in colloidal oats, which are FDA approved for the treatment of eczema (atopic dermatitis) because of their ability to reduced redness and inflammation. Caper extract works alongside the oats to decrease the inflammatory response of your skin, and the bradykinase in aloe also helps reduce inflammation.
🍏SMOOTH
Aloe contains glucomannan and vitamin C, both of which support collagen production and cross-linking. Niacinamide in a low concentration helps smooth skin texture and reduce the appearance of pores. And white tea brings antioxidant power to the table, helping repair and protect skin cells from oxidative damage, which is what contributes to fine lines and discoloration as we age.
