This dude was a gift from my uber-gardener brother-in-law four years ago when I joined Innovacorp. It survived long stretches without water at 1801 Hollis, and I'm sure survived only due to the watering graces of the cleaning lady. It also survived 12 months of alternating between a state of freeze and scorching heat at Volta. When we left there eight months ago, it was a tad crispy from spending too long against a 35 degree radiator. It seemed to enjoy our next home on the corner of Brunswick and Spring Garden, cuz #loftlife. Still, lack of insulation and general care from its owner (me) meant it struggled to recover. Fast forward to last week where in its new home on Prince street, sitting on a south facing sunny sill, this little fella bloomed. For the first time ever. Three blooms. The DH team was in awe. Whether this is just a thank you for some care and pleasant environs, or a final, dazzling death rattle, kudos big guy. You deserve your moment in the sun.
