Founder Friday #1: From Sarah. 🤍
It’s not all cocktails and kisses. 23 years ago, we started our own tradition of kissing before an evening cocktail. It was something that Lincoln’s parents did, and they were married 60+ years so it seemed like they were on to something. We do this religiously.
But we are here to say, our relationship is just like yours. It is requiring work and attention. This can feel hard at times because we are also raising four kids, Lincoln is commuting to a different state every week, and he is also running our food business. We are gearing up for our third high school graduation as another one of our babies leaves the nest. In the last four years, we will have launched three kids into the world. Nobody talks about this. It is a heavy time.
For the past four years, Lincoln and I have worked on building our brand and physical store at Resorts World. This all happened during the pandemic. We didn’t have any professional coaching and we didn’t have any support. Working together as co-founders isn’t easy – we both are so different but are working toward a common goal that we feel so strongly about. We believe there should be a space for more connection – to share information, ask questions, to play (!) while we all try to improve our relationship with our partners, or with ourselves. This safe, beautiful, light space hasn’t existed on the Las Vegas Strip before now.
Doing anything new is hard. Change is hard. Building a brand is hard. Raising kids is hard. Having difficult conversations is hard. I’m proud of what we have built and hope you are, too. While every day isn’t cocktails and kisses, it’s all worthwhile.
