We were thrilled to be able to donate menstrual cups to Portland Parks & Recreation's workshop "Menstruation in the Outdoors." The workshop was designed to teach teens⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
how to take care of their bodies while working in nature. At the end of the workshop the teens provided the following feedback: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Your period blood is actually something you can give back to the land." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Menstrual blood is actually very different from blood that comes out of say, a cut, in that it is much more rich in nutrients and very beneficial to the earth."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Bad smells are due to bacteria and not blood itself."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"You learn more about your body more when you use different products."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Menstruators spend over $5,000 on menstruation products on average in their lifetime"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One non-menstruator said: "I learned more about how stigmatized the cycle is"”
