❌ G O T S T A I N S ? ❌⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We have solutions.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What's that old adage? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound cure? Old Benjamin Franklin definitely nailed it when it comes to menstrual cups.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You definitely want to sanitize your cup regularly. In addition to washing your cup each day and sterilizing your menstrual cup before and after each period, make sure you are giving your cup a scrub in the areas that often experience buildup such as around the rim and in the grooves of the stem. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Minimize the amount of time the cup is exposed to the air without a thorough cleaning because this can lead to the darkening of the silicone. But once your cup has been washed and sterilized, place in a sunny location (preferably outside) for a few hours. Those UV rays will do a world of good for any discoloration.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you do end up with stains, don't despair! Give your menstrual cup a soak at room temperature for an hour or so (even overnight!) in a glass container or jar with 1/3 cup hydrogen peroxide and 2/3 cup water. Still got stains? Grab a soft toothbrush and give your cup a vigorous scrub. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your cup will be sparkling in no time. #pixieplants
