Have you ever noticed that some ecommerce sites just feel easy to use and have you buying without even thinking about it, while others make you second-guess every click? That’s System 1 vs. System 2 thinking in action. Psychologist Daniel Kahneman broke decision-making into two modes: 👉 System 1 (Fast Thinking): Automatic, intuitive, and effortless—like instantly spotting an "Add to Cart" button or breezing through checkout. 👉 System 2 (Slow Thinking): Deliberate, logical, and effortful—like comparing product options or deciding on a high-ticket purchase. A well-designed eCommerce site works with these systems, not against them: ✔️ Speed up the easy decisions – Clear CTAs, intuitive navigation, and fast-loading pages keep System 1 in control. ✔️ Reduce friction – Too many steps or overwhelming choices push users into slow, effortful thinking (which often leads to drop-offs). ✔️ Support big purchases – When customers do need time to decide, structured comparisons, reviews, and clear benefits make System 2 thinking easier. At lot of planning and designing goes into any site that we launch. Our priority is to design ecommerce experiences that feel effortless—helping customers move from browsing to buying without unnecessary friction. This principle is foundational to our design framework. #eCommerce #UXDesign #UIDesign #ConversionOptimisation #CognitivePsychology #DesignPrinciples #ProcessCreative
