Here’s the thing about choice… it’s not always a good thing.
Hick’s Law tells us the time it takes for someone to make a decision increases with the number of options presented. Sounds obvious, right? But you'd be surprised how often it's ignored in ecommerce.
Cluttered navigation. Endless product filters. Ten different CTAs on a single page. All of it adds cognitive load, slows users down, and pushes them closer to bounce.
When we design and build Shopify Premium Plus sites, we apply Hick’s Law to sharpen UX and streamline conversion flows:
• Simplified nav structures that guide, not overwhelm
• Curated product discovery, not “everything all at once”
• Purposeful CTAs. One action per moment
Less choice = faster decisions = more checkouts.
Remember: Great UX isn't about giving users everything; it's about giving them the right thing at the right time.
