Welcome to #Pregnancy101, where we're breaking down some of the most common pregnancy ailments and how to get relief! Today, we're covering symphysis pubis dysfunction (aka SPD), which affects 1 in 5 pregnant women.โ  โ  ๐Ÿ’ก What's the Deal? ๐Ÿ’กโ  Also known as pelvic girdle pain or "lightning crotch," SPD happens when the ligaments that usually keep your pelvic joints aligned become too relaxed and stretchy during pregnancy. (You can thank the hormone relaxin for that!) As the joints become unstable, you can start to experience pain and discomfort in your pelvis and low back.โ  โ  โœ… How to Treat Symphysis Pubis โœ… โ  As always, discuss any pregnancy pains or symptoms you're having with your physician. Wearing a pelvic support belt, such as our V-Sling, can help stabilize the joints in your pelvis and position your pubic bone to reduce discomfort. Your provider may also recommend physical therapy as a way to reduce discomfort as your pregnancy progresses.โ  โ  ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Tap the link in bio to shop the V-Sling! ๐Ÿ›๏ธ
