That’s A Wrap! 😍
.
@rachelnicolefit 👉”Many of you have asked me about postpartum support and whether or not I used a belt or wrap. -Yes, absolutely I did and for many reasons.
After having a baby your core is very weak and all of your internal organs are shifting back into place. Your uterus is contracting back to its normal size and your tummy is very soft.
One of the first things I noticed was how uncomfortable it was to stand up or even get out of a seated position bc of all of this. You’re not supposed to engage your core while it’s healing so that you don’t cause more damage or permanently separated abdominal muscles. Your abdominal muscles naturally separate during pregnancy to make room for baby. Any damage to them or improper healing can cause permanent separation called diastasis recti.”
.
“Wearing a wrap or support helps to act as a splint keeping the abdominal wall tighter. This helped me so much right after having Oliver and also alleviated much of my discomfort when trying to get up or even carry him while trying to consciously not engage my core."
.
“The @bellybandit helped me tremendously after coming home with baby and helped with my PP recovery. I ordered for my size coming home from the hospital (Size M) for reference.”
